James Lavelle has added films to his lengthy list of artistic accomplishments. The producer/mastermind behind U.N.K.L.E., has created a short ìanti-warî film which features exclusive paintings from Massive Attack. Lavelle teamed up with the acclaimed animation group Shynola (best known for their work on Radiohead art and videos), and the paintings are courtesy of 3-D from the Attack. Lavelleís management had this to say to Creative Review magazine about the film: "First and foremost it was intended as an anti-war statement. The idea is to release this as a film, rather than a promo. It's not about selling millions of records - it's about making a statement." The film will be shown at numerous animation film festivals around the world, so start making love to google to find out where you can peep this clip. Fans of the futuristic U.N.K.L.E. sound are still waiting for a new release from Lavelle, but something tells me that it will come when the time is right, it will contain another batch of breathtaking music so influential and mesmerizing, that heads will not even know what to do with it.
