Angular goth-pixie rockers Placebo are set to enter the studio this summer to record some
tracks for their next album. The band have already written a handful of songs, including "Cavity
Search," "Multiply," "Special Needs," "Protect Me," "English Summer Rain," and "Fade Out," and
want to get these songs on to tape. For their fourth studio album, the multi-national triumverate has
chosen Jim Abbiss to twist the knobs, as he has already done so for UNKLE,
Massive Attack and Bjork. According to the NME, the band will then return
to the studio in the fall after they've written more tracks and wrap the whole thing up for a proposed
spring 2003 release.
