Jerry is back...or is he? In a strange move that would make Andy Kauffman and Tony Clifton giggle or get extremely upset, ABC has given a half-hour comedy pilot the green light based on "Letters From a Nut," the bestselling series of books by the enigmatic Ted L. Nancy. The wind churning the rumor mill is that Jerry Seinfeld himself IS Ted L. Nancy, a letter writer who according to ABC, "sends seemingly serious, yet totally absurd requests to corporate honchos, entertainment conglomerates...and celebrities." the best part of the bit, is that recipients of the letter always take the time to write back to Nancy, with heartfelt and serious responses. Seinfeld says that he and Nancy are not the same, but the multimillion dollar comedian was present during the pitch meetings with ABC and other networks earlier this spring. "I may not have been Superman him self, but it became known that I was able to contact him (Nancy)," Seinfeld wrote in the intro to the book.
