Ramirez and Manson Part Ways

Marilyn Manson and bassist Twiggy Ramirez have agreed to disagree and
the two factions will cease being part of the same unit. Ramirez, who has been the
bass player on all of Manson's Interscope Records releases, evidently could not get
with the new vibe Marilyn and company were rocking on new recordings for The
Golden Age of Grotesque
, due to hit shelves this fall. In an Interscope Records
statement, Manson said that although Twiggy was one of his best friends,
the music must go on. "I have spent eight months transforming this band and our new
songs into an unstoppable juggernaut, and sadly Twiggy wasn't able to make himself a part
of it," Manson stated. "I have decided to let him go his own way, otherwise it wouldn't be
fair to us, the music, or especially to the fans." Replacing the four-string master will be
ex-KMFDM man Tim Skold, who, according to MTV, also has
co-producer status on Groteseque. Will Manson beg Ramirez to
come back, Fred Durst/Wes Borland stylee? Only time will tell
