Moby Will Not Play With 18

Electronica superstar Moby (a.k.a. SeÒor Moby) has turned down all requests to license songs from 18 for use in advertisements - an interesting statement from a man whose use of licensing put him on the map and resulted in a multi-platinum selling album. That album, Play, is the most licensed album of all time, being used to sell cars, credit cards, and plus-sized ladies undergarments (I might have made up that last one). So why the sudden change of heart, SeÒor Moby? Well, according to a quote ripped from Reuters, Moby said, "The reason we licensed stuff from Play was that was the only avenue we had available to us to get people to hear the music. Weíve had requests [to license tracks from 18], but weíve said no to everything." Ok Moby, I can dig it. Besides, Dirty Vegas has taken over the, "my career was launched by a car commercial" crown. However, always an astute businessman, Moby has left his options open, saying that songs from 18 could possibly be used in the future if a "really interesting licensing opportunity came along."
