Donít Give Up on Solomon Burke, Heís Bringing it Better Than Ever

Soul legend Solomon Burke will release his biggest album in decades, Donít Give Up on Me, on July 23 by way of Fat Possum. The man has been called the best soul singer ever and has had a huge influence on a number of 1960s UK rock bands, most notably The Rolling Stones, who covered his ìCry to Meî and ìEverybody Needs Somebody to Loveî on their early albums. Though Burke has released a steady stream of albums since 1962, none has been as highly anticipated or highly praised as Donít Give Up on Me. The New York Times, Good Morning New York, GQ, Entertainment Weekly, The Chicago Tribune, and many more publications have done features on the man and the album. If that piques your curiosity, head here to stream the album in its entirety. Oh, and did I mention that Bob Dylan, Tom Waits, Van Morrison, Elvis Costello, Brian Wilson, and Nick Lowe have all contributed songs to the project?
