One half of the greatest band in the world, accomplished comedic actor and MTV movie award co-host Jack Black has just landed a gig in a new high-school comedy. The film, School of Rock, will feature JB as a musician who gets hired as a substitute teacher at a stuffy private school. As you can imagine, he proceeds to act crazy, rock out, and, along the way, manages to inspire some teens - kind of like a Dead Poets Society for the ganja smoking, beer-bonging generation. According to Movies.com, School of Rock is scheduled for release in the summer of 2003. Jack Black fans' next opportunity to catch their hero in action will be in the film Envy, in which he shares the screen with Ben Stiller, Christopher Walken, and Rachel Weisz.
Meanwhile, Tenacious D's self-titled debut was recently certified Gold by the RIAA for sales of over 500,000 copies.
