Chris Robinson Signs on the Dotted Redline

Black Crowes frontman Chris Robinson and his stuck in the '70s wardrobe recently inked a deal with Best Buy-backed Redline Entertainment to release his work-in-progress solo debut, New Earth Mud. According to Billboard, the album is tentatively scheduled for release later this year, though no official date has been set. Robinson road tested some of the new material earlier this year on a series of North American and European tour dates, but apparently, he's not satisfied. Beginning August 15, the star will embark on a 10-date North American tour that will hit the West Coast, Midwest, and Canada. The Black Crowes, who are on indefinite hiatus because Chris and his brother Rich can't stand to be in the same room together, will release a two-disc live album August 27 on V2. The songs were taken from a two-night stand in October of last year at Boston's Orpheum Theatre. Check out Chris Robinson's upcoming solo tour dates.
