Hope Sandoval Prepares To Romance U.S. With Tour

The former Mazzy Star goddess, Hope Sandoval, will intimately penetrate and haunt the souls of fans with her hypnotizing vocals on her upcoming North American solo tour with her band the Warm Inventions. Sandoval, who parted ways with her old band (which basically consisted of herself and long time friend, collaborator, and string plucker David Roback), released a gentle and enrapturing solo record in 2001, Bavarian Fruit Bread, via Sanctuary Records/Rough Trade. This reporter has been a fan of Sandoval, and her remarkably amazing voice, on all three Mazzy Star records, as well as the pre-Sandoval project Opal. I couldn't be foaming at the mouth more for this tour, if Cujo himself had bitten me 80,000 times and given me 100 lifetimes of terminal rabies. The 15-date trek starts on August 7 in Sacramento and wraps in D.C. on August 28. Touring with Sandoval will be the Soledad Brothers, and more info on the engaging soulstress can be found at www.hopesandoval.com. I'm straight by the way.
