The Osbournes Ink Deal with Buena Vista; DVD Plans Underway

Americaís favorite dysfunctional family, the Osbournes, have signed a deal with Miramax Filmsí DVD/VHS arm Buena Vista Home Video that will cover the first two seasons of the hit reality series. According to Billboard, the agreement is worth nearly $7 million, with the family being paid $1.25 million simply for providing commentary tracks and other "supplemental" material. It is thought the DVD will be available in the fall (in both censored and uncensored versions) and will help to promote the second season of the show. This deal is only the latest in a string of licensing agreements the Osbournes have entered into recently. Earlier this year, the family signed a deal with Signatures Network, which was estimated to be worth more than $3 million, to unleash at least 57 Osbourne products. In other, more somber Osbournes news, family matriarch Sharon Osbourne is set to begin chemotherapy treatments to help aid in her battle with colon cancer. Never one to miss an opportunity, Sharon will allow the MTV cameras to roll while she undergoes treatment. In order to be with his wife during this first round of treatments, Ozzy has decided to take a three week leave of absence from his Ozzfest tour.
