Punkers in Devore California are going to experience a miniaturized version of their own little Warped Tour on September 14, when KROQ hosts their second helping of the Inland Invasion show. Billboard reports that the 65,000 seat Blockbuster Pavilion will host Bad Religion, X, the Damned, T.S.O.L., the Distillers, the Vandals, the Adolescents, Pennywise, G.B.H., Unwritten Law, New Found Glory, and possibly the Sex Pistols. New Found Glory and Sex Pistols on the same stage? New Found Glory, period? What the fuck has this world come to? Next thing you know, some label slime is going use Kurt Cobain's DNA to bring him back to life for a special Lollapalooza 3000 with Nirvana and Disney's Country Bears Jug Band as headliners.
This event sounds awesome, and paints a vivid timeline for "old school meeting new school punk." G.B.H. released their first 7" in 1983. What trimester were the parents of New Found Glory in during 1983? Bad Religion, X, the Damned, T.S.O.L., the Vandals, the Adolescents are all responsible for the the bands like Pennywise, the Distillers, and Unwritten Law, so that makes perfect sense. An homage to the '80s punk scene from the '90s generation, all representing Southern California. But are you kidding me with New Found Glory? I hope Fletcher from Pennywise gets wasted and pukes all over them.
Someone from Sexpistols.net posted this response to possibly playing their first North American date since 1996 on their site, "while there is no smoke without fire, they are not sure themselves at the moment. As with the Pistols, plans can go 'tits up'."
