Strokes To Re-Release Album, Launch DVD

Those '70s revivalists with the perfect hair, The Strokes, are preparing to relaunch their debut album, but toss in some bonus material for good measure. The limited edition re-release of Is This It will be paired with a DVD that will contain unaltered video versions of "Last Nite," "Hard To Explain," and new single "Someday," as well as live footage of "The Modern Age" and "NYC Cops." This all drops on October 1, with the DVD also going on sale separately at the end of that month. Also on the re-release horizon, according to chartattack.com, are the import CD singles for "Someday" and "Last Nite," which feature alternate versions of the album favorites. The band is also working on new material, as is evidenced by their revealing new songs on their two city mini-tour with fellow buzzing-like-a-hornet act The White Stripes. Newer songs played last night in Detroit included "The Way It Is," "Meet Me In The Bathroom," and "Ze Newie." More newbies are expected to be unleashed on the home crowd this weekend.
