Vice magazine, home to all sorts of jacked up pictures, hilarious reviews and, of course, the infamous “Dos and Don’ts” fashion section is branching out. Their wondrous free magazine will still exist, but now they have set up an imprint deal in conjunction with Atlantic Records. The first offering from this new label will be the white-hot debut album from Birmingham, England’s The Streets. While sounding like a band, the Mercury Music Prize nominee is actually just one guy, Mike Skinner, and his amalgamation of pop, ska, garage and hip hop is tearing up his home nation, as well as Cornerstone Player .033 (“Don’t Mug Yourself”). According to Much Music, the album, Original Pirate Music, is due to be released on our shores on October 22 and the comparisons to Eminem will most likely follow The Streets to the US, as well.
