Slash, May, & More Lay Down Tracks with The Yardbirds

The band that launched three of rock's greatest guitarists, Jimmy Page, Jeff Beck and Eric Clapton is roping in further axe talent for their comeback album. The Yardbirds, who haven't recorded new songs in 30+ years have enlisted Slash, Johnny Rzeznik of Goo Goo Dolls, Brian May of Queen and ex-Whitesnake stringman Steve Vai. The band now consists of original members Chris Dreja and Jim McCarty and new musicians were brought in during the late '90s when the band reformed to tour. The album is currently being wrapped up in London, as most of it was recorded at Vai's studio in Hollywood. No word as to title or release date, but I bet it won't be as good as "For Your Love," that's for sure!
