Swedish garage sensations The Hives and alt-rock heartthrob Pete Yorn will be part of an August 28th benefit concert celebrating the 10th anniversary of LIFEbeat. According to Billboard, LIFEbeat is the music industry's non-profit HIV-prevention and fundraising organization which, over the past 10 years, has sponsored concerts, tours, performance series, and created public service announcements in the name of AIDS/HIV prevention. Jimmy Eat World and Sugarcult are also on the bill and MTV has signed on to cover the event as part of their pre-VMA festivities. The VMAs, which have just added The Hives to the list of performers, will air the following evening (August 29).
Tickets to the benefit show go on sale today via TicketMaster and will set you back $32/$37. VIP tickets with access to an exclusive afterparty are also available. To find out more call LIFEbeat at 212.965.8900 x120.
