Anti- Scoops Up Daniel Lanois, New Album Due in January

Daniel Lanois, acclaimed producer, multi-instrumentalist, songwriter, and artist, has inked a deal with Anti- to release his as-yet-untitled third proper album. Lanois' first solo release hit the streets way back in 1989 in the form of Acadie, which was followed some years later by For the Beauty of Wynona in 1993. Lanois is perhaps most well-known for his masterful production work with the like of Bob Dylan, Peter Gabriel and U2, the later of which yielded him both a Grammy and a Juno award for All That You Can't Leave Behind. He's also produced a ton of film soundtracks, including High Fidelity, Tomb Raider, Good Will Hunting, Wonderboys, and Empire Records. The musical giant was recently inducted into the Canadian Music Hall of Fame as well, which is slightly more prestigious than having your picture hung on the wall of Manuel's Fry House in rural Tennessee (just kidding, Canada's cool. I like Labatt Bleu and Mike Meyers). According to Billboard, a spring tour is in the works in support of the album, with a notable stop at NYC's famed Carnegie Hall planned.
