Nirvana Box Set On Shelves by Christmas?

The ongoing battle over the rights to unreleased Nirvana material, as well as the rest of the band's empire may still rage, but a ray of light has appeared from behind the seemingly endless bank of clouds. In an interview with billboard.com, bassist Krist Novaselic said that he believed that not only would the rare gem "You Know You're Right" mostly likely see release, but it may even happen this year. Intimating that the highly-rumored Nirvana box set might actually be on its way, Novaselic stated, "All your assumptions would be safe. Unless [you think] it's gonna be this freaky, like, experimental noise record, no. It's all safe and that way the band wins, the estate wins, the fans win, everybody wins, so it's good will." As to the timeline, he fired off, "They [Universal Music Group] got that motherfucker on a rail, they're talking fourth quarter here." If that's the case, I think we know what every 15-24-year-old will be getting for Christmas. More news as it becomes available.
