Cool Christmas Compilation On the Way From Nettwerk America

Coldplay, Jimmy Eat World, Ben Folds, Phantom Planet, Vanessa Carlton and a number of other artists have contributed to an eclectic holiday compilation from Nettwerk America. Due out November 5, the 12-track release has been titled Maybe This Christmas. According to, a portion of the proceeds from sales of the album will be donated to Toys For Tots. Maybe This Christmas mixes new takes on traditional holiday tunes as well as some original compositions. Coldplay try their hand at "Have Yourself a Merry Little Christmas," Bright Eyes take on the Elvis classic "Blue Christmas," and the boys of Phantom Planet tackle "Winter Wonderland." Original tracks from Ben Folds ("Bizarre Christmas Incident"), Jimmy Eat World ("12/23/95"), and Vanessa Carlton ("Green Sleeves") can also be found on the album. I know it's kind of hard to think about Christmas when it is still 80 degrees outside, but for a guy who usually hates holiday compilations, this one seems quite entertaining.
