Simon Ratcliffe and Felix Buxton, a.k.a. Basement Jaxx, are already back in the studio and preparing their third proper album. For the nameless record, the follow-up to 2001's Rooty, the pair have already written 30 songs. They plan to keep to their previous plan of using virtually unknown vocalists to appear on their albums, the duo told Rolling Stone.
"We're speaking to a couple of people at the moment. We've got loads of people coming into the studio -- singers and various people, mostly underground people," Buxton told the magazine. "We're not against using a name, but we'll see." The band will pare the 30 songs down to a more reasonable quantity of tracks for the album, which they hope to release in the beginning of next year.
