Members Of Coldplay Join Ian McCulloch On New Solo Effort

Chris Martin and Johnny Buckland of Coldplay have lent their talents to Echo And The Bunnymen frontman Ian McCulloch's new solo album. Coldplay made it widely known that McCulloch was their saving grace during the high-pressure recording sessions for A Rush Of Blood To The Head. They were under a tremendous amount of pressure and McCulloch helped to ease the tension and keep the band on track in the studio. Now, it appears Coldplay, or one half of it at least, is returning the favor by performing on McCulloch's first solo LP since 1992's Mysterio, though they did play Echo And The Bunnymen's "Lips Like Sugar" a few times on their recent US tour. According to NME the as yet untitled new Ian McCulloch album will be released in March of 2003.
