The extremely successful first leg of The Strokes' fall tour wound down on Tuesday (10/24) in Portland, but the NYC-based five-piece only have nine days to rest before they head back out on the road. The tour's 13-date second leg will get underway on Halloween night in San Francisco and will wrap with a two-night home stand at NYC's Roseland Ballroom. According to NME, the band will then take the rest of the year to work on new material and are expected to enter the studio to lay down their second LP at the start of the new year.
Bassist Nikolai Fraiture spoke to MTV about the new album, saying, "The writing is much more sophisticated and our performance and our musical ability is much better than the first recording. Our main focus is to just get better. We see our faults and we see our good qualities, and we know when we are doing well, and when we're not it's pretty obvious."
