Hersh Readies Babies, Solo Album And Reforms Throwing Muses

Throwing Muses frontwoman Kristin Hersh has been a busy woman. Not only has she been releasing baby boys, with her fourth just born in November, but she also has two albums coming out in early 2003. The first will be a solo album entitiled The Grotto. This album features guest appearances from Giant Sand's Howe Gelb on piano and ex-Squirrel Nut Zipper man Andrew Bird on violin. The second, and possibly infinitely more interesting album is one from a reformed Throwing Muses. Ex-Belly member Tonya Donelly is back in the fold, as well as Bernard Georges and David Narcizo, the same lineup that brought the world 1991's The Real Ramona. The Muses' record will be a self-titled effort and both albums are expected to hit shelves concurrently in the first part of 2003.
