Weezer Drummer Offers Up Some Special Goodness

In the continuing recent trend of side project bands (Gorillaz, Box Car Racer, and Transplants just to name a few), we've got another for you: The Special Goodness. It's the project of Weezer drummer Pat Wilson. We all know that former Weezer bassist Matt Sharp ended up leaving the band to rock his side project The Rentals, but it seems Wilson is staying with the original bespectacled emo kids, he just wants to rock on his own for right now. And by rocking on his own, he means singing and playing guitar, too. The Special Goodness also features ex-Rocket From The Crypt skinsman Atom Willard mashing the drums. No permanent bassist exists, but on their new album, Land, Sea, Air, 4-string duties are held by Maladroit producer Rod Cervera. The album is due to drop on March 4, and the band hopes to tour for about a month afterwards. But if you can't wait until then, there are plenty of MP3s at the band's site. Bon appetit.
