Die-hard Pearl Jam fans rejoice! The band WILL, in fact, release "official bootlegs" for their forthcoming 2003 world tour, which gets underway February 8 in Brisbane, Australia. Billboard reports that this time around, fans who pre-order the bootlegs from Pearl Jam's Ten Club fan club will first receive a secure Web link to download unmastered MP3 files the day after a given performance. A mastered two-disc copy of the show, with custom packaging, will then arrive 7-10 days after each purchased performance. While "official bootlegs" for Pearl Jam's 2000 world tour were available via Ten Club and retail outlets, no retail plans have been laid out for this year's offerings.
The reaction from fans to the band's 72 separate releases from their 2000 world tour was surprisingly positive, with 14 of them landing on the Billboard 200 before all was said and done.
