MTV has defied the law of "never letting Magic Johnson back on television," by providing the former Lakers star with an outlet to make his triumphant return to the boob tube. The basketball legend has signed on to co-executive produce and appear in Who's Got Game, a new reality series pitting the country's best "street" basketball players against each other. The Hollywood Reporter says the new show will premier later this summer, once the 12 ballers are cast.
The show will peek inside the lives of the ball players as they compete against one another in classic b-ball games like H-O-R-S-E, all around the world, and blind free throw. MTV has no plans to put Magic behind a desk and interview celebrities, which might make for a tolerable show. We love you Magic...and all of your movie theaters, TGI Fridays, and championship rings.
