Prolific, genre-bending singer/songwriter/guitarist Ben Harper will team with college pot-rocker Jack Johnson this summer for a major North American tour. According to Billboard, the pair will hit about 40 cities along way, playing mostly outdoor venues that range in size from 5,000 - 25,000 seats. Prior to this summer's tour, Harper and Johnson will play 13 dates together in Mach and April. Both men will then be performing at what has become the best summer concert series around, Coachella, as well as Jazz Fest in New Orleans and the second annual Bonnaroo festival in Manchester, TN.
Ben Harper will release his fifth proper studio album, entitled Diamonds On The Inside, on March 11 via Virgin.
Jack Johnson will follow-up his 2001 platinum-selling debut, Brushfire Fairytales, with On And On, which will hit the streets on May 6 from Enjoy/Universal.
Date and venue information for the Harper/Johnson co-headlining summer tour has yet to be announced, but we'll keep you posted.
