James Lavelle Of Mo' Wax To Raise Mo' Money For Anti-War Movement

Yet again, the English in the music industry are rallying against the impending war in Iraq. This time it's Mo' Wax head James Lavelle leading the charge, following in the footsteps of other outspoken artists Damon Albarn, 3D of Massive Attack and Ms. Dynamite. He is organizing a live event, to be held later this month at London club Fabric, with the proceeds going to the Campaign For Nuclear Disarmament (CND). "Wrong War" is the title of the fund-raising venture and expected to play a role are ex-Stone Roses frontman Ian Brown, former KLF man Billy Drummond and the film branch of Warp Records, with more names are expected to be announced as they are confirmed. Lavelle hopes to raise over £30,000 for CND at the March 20 event.
