Coldplay Announce Spring Tour Support Acts

Folky Canadian singer/songwriter Ron Sexsmith and Dallas-based rockers Eisley have been recruited as opening acts for Coldplay's forthcoming spring tour of the States. Eisley, who previously went under the moniker Mos Eisley and changed their name for fear of getting a severe beatdown from George Lucas and crew, will be on board for the entire 16-date trek, beginning May 20 in Edmonton. According to NME, Sexsmith won't join the tour until five days later at the Les Schwab Amphitheater in Bend, OR, but he'll then be part of the gang for the remainder of the dates. Coldplay's North American jaunt will take the band to some of America's finest venues, including the Hollywood Bowl (May 31), Red Rocks (June 6), and Madison Square Garden (June 13).
