Interpol Drummer Hospitalized In Italy

Ultra-cool NYC band Interpol had to cut short an April 16 gig at the Bologna Estragon in Italy after their drummer, Sam Fogarino became ill during the set. A spokesperson for the band said that Fogarino had been feeling under the weather for the past couple of days, but tried to tough it out and keep on rockin'. Apparently though, the problem was a little more severe than a head cold or the flu. The spokesperson explained the situation in detail: "Sam had been feeling poorly for the past couple of days with pretty bad flu. He left the stage shaking but duly tried to continue the set. After a few more songs he simply couldn't even hold the drumsticks. The band had to stop playing and Sam was rushed to [the] hospital. After some X-rays he was told that he had a stressed nerve in his arm." NME reports that the band laid low for a couple of days, but are going to give the show another go tonight at the same venue to make up the shortened gig on Wednesday. Get well Sam!
