Radiohead's Field Day Warm Up Gig Will Air On MTV

On June 6, the day before Radiohead headline Long Island's Field Day Festival, they will play a warm-up gig at NYC's Beacon Theatre. According to Billboard, this event will be taped for an MTV special and aired on the network at a later date. The band was auctioning off a pair of front row seats for the show on eBay, with proceeds benefiting the TJ Martell Foundation for Lukemia, Cancer, and AIDS research, however, that auction has been ended early because of error in the listing. We're not sure what the deal is but Billboard reported that the price was all the way up to $2,275 when they posted the story late yesterday afternoon. Radiohead's sixth release, Hail To The Thief, will hit the streets (for real) on June 10 via Capitol in the US and a day earlier through Parlophone in the UK. Other than the two previously mentioned US dates in June, Radiohead have not announced any other spring/summer North American tour plans, but you know we'll keep you posted.
