And the winner is...Lions Gate Films. Congratulations are in order, as you have beat out several indepenent film companies and won the bidding war for Dogville, the Lars von Trier film that has everyone spinning like a misguided hurricane at this year's Cannes film festival. Dogville, which is certain to scoop up the coveted Palme d'Or prize which will be unveiled on Sunday, stars Nicole Kidman in a three-hour tale which was shot on a soundstage with minimal sets and props. Von Trier's last film was Dancer In The Dark, the depressing tale of a blind steel worker (Bjork), which was one of the best and sincerely refreshing (all digital, over 100 camera) films of 2001.
