My Bloody Valentine To Reunite For Box Set Recordings?

Certain bands, when talk of reunion pops up, always garner lots of attention and drooling, with fans whipped up into a frenzy. Led Zeppelin, The Smiths, The Stone Roses and The Pixies are all bands that normally have that effect. However, another band in that pantheon is rumored to actually be reforming, even if only for recording sessions for a box set. My Bloody Valentine members Kevin Shields, Bilinda Butcher and Colm OíCiosiog are all in the studio together, according to Under The Radar, recording songs they initially left off the Glider EP. Glider was initially to be an LP, but five songs were cut to make the EP. Theoretically, the band will rerecord the five missing songs and throw them together with the Glider EP to make an LP for the box set. The original Glider sessions took place in 1990, then there was the recording of the groundbreaking Loveless and then 10 years of nothing, as perfectionist extraordinaire Shields tossed away session after session from his seminal shoegazing outfit. Hopefully this recording time will rejuvenate the act and cause them to reunite for the duration, roping in bassist Debbie Googe, as well. We can always hope.
