Emo, Alt.country, Electroclash, Post-Rock, Nu-Metal Now In Dictionary

A few months ago, we brought you a story on how hip-hop terms such as ìbling bling,î ìdopeî and ìjiggyî had been added to the Oxford Dictionary, and seeing how we are such a highly literary bunch here at the Tripwire (yeah, right), weíve got further vocabulary nonsense for you. UK rock bible NME has had five of its regularly used terms taken and added to the Collins English Dictionary. ìElectroclash,î ìalt.country,î ìemoî, ìnu-metal,î and ìpost-rockî are all now official words in the dictionary. Amazing how popular culture shapes the vernacular. Whatís even more amazing is what people will think when they look back at the dictionary in the future and the these words have become the ìgroovyî and ìtripindicularî of our generation.
