Quebec

Finally, thanks to the fine folks at Sanctuary Records, the eighth record from the brothers Ween (Aaron Freeman and Mickey Melchiondo) will be heard and cherished by all. Quebec, the follow up to 2000's sublime White Pepper, encountered some bumps on the road to release but finally saw the light of day on August 5. Recorded in various living rooms, garages, and rented vacation houses along the East Coast, Quebec, produced by Andrew Weiss and mixed by Chris Shaw (Bob Dylan, Cheap Trick), is a self-proclaimed dark and moody misuse of drugs and alcohol. Ween are a pair of awe-inspiring weirdos who create the most tastefully peculiar music on the planet (save The Flaming Lips and Gwar). ìTransdermal Celebration,î complete with airplane flyby (Maverick from Top Gun style) is a grandiose adventure through the outlandish minds of this primo pair, who are just as valuable to the evolution of rock & roll as the guitar.
