Dark, brooding, wall of guitars and moody are all words or phrases that could be used in describing Black Rebel Motorcycle Club. But ìback porch,î ìcountryî and ìgospel?î That sounds quite contrary to the BRMC weíve come to know and love, but in an interview with Londonís XFM radio, frontman Peter Hayes used just those very words in describing the bandís next direction. "I love the simple side of rock 'n' roll music. I like that it doesn't ask too much all the time and it's fun to just kick out the jams - that's where the dream began y'know?î Hayes went on to add, ìWe've had all these new songs stewing for a while that are really different than what we come out with normally. Very rootsy back porch, country, gospel, blues kinda stuff. I can't explain it more than that really.î Sounds like you just did, Peter! No idea how this will manifest itself as their sophomore album just drops next week, but if they make a drastic change in musical focus, weíll have been warned.
