Breakout artists Thrice and Thursday, also Island labelmates, have announced plans for a US tour this fall. Kicking off October 17 in Pittston Township, PA, the 13-date tour will be sponsored by MTV2 and Alternative Press. Expectations are high for the tour, and with a 3,500-seat sell out at the Palladium in Hollywood Halloween night, I'd say they're well on their way to meeting them. Both bands are dropping their major label debuts this summer as well. Thrice released their new album, The Artist In The Ambulance, earlier this month. Thursday will release War All Time on September 16, preceded by a brief headlining tour with Year Of The Rabbit and Death By Stereo starting September 8.
Thrice's Dustin Kensrue told Billboard that hearing his songs on KROQ and watching his videos on MTV is something that takes a little getting used to. He said, "It's just like, 'That's not really there, nobody else is watching that, it's just a special feed for my TV or radio.'" See below for the Thrice/Thursday dates.
