School Of Rock Has A Soundtrack That Does Just That

Jack Black is the current golden boy of comedy films and his new vehicle, School Of Rock is preparing to split sides across the country this fall. October 3 is the date the film opens and a properly rock soundtrack will drop the Tuesday prior. Featured on the soundtrack are new acts like The Darkness and Black Keys and classic tracks from The Who, Led Zeppelin and more. Thereís even an appearance from coverband supergroup Wyldd Rattz, comprised of Thurston Moore and Steve Shelley from Sonic Youth, The Minutemen's Mike Watt, Ron Asheton of The Stooges, Gumball's Don Fleming and Mark Arm of Mudhoney reprising ìTV Eye,î as originally featured on the Velvet Goldmine soundtrack. Black himself features on two tracks, including the title track, which was actually written by the film's screenwriter, Mike White, and Sammy James, Jr. of The Mooney Suzuki. Atlantic drops the soundtrack on September 29 so prepare to ROCK.
