Tom McRae's self-titled debut album was released in the fall of 2001. In the UK, he drew comparisons to Nick Drake and Bob Dylan, and the album was eventually nominated for the coveted Mercury Music Prize for outstanding musical achievement. The album was released by Arista in the US, but the 9/11 attacks cut his first single, "End Of The World News," short at radio. Recorded once again for Mercury's db record label in the UK, McRae's sophomore album, Just Like Blood, has yet to be picked up here in the US. So Tom is doing what any incredibly talented musician should do in this situation: he's coming over here to play a small number of dates, including residencies at Fez and Sin-E in New York City and a few dates supporting Turin Brakes. He's going to show everyone how good he is, in person.
A Morning Becomes Eclectic session with the one and only Nic Harcourt is also scheduled. WOXY in Cincinnati and WBER in Rochester, NY have been playing a few tracks from the album as well. Check out the tour itinerary as it stands now below.
