First released in October of 2002 in the UK, Out Of Season, a collaborative effort between Portishead's Beth Gibbons and Talk Talk bassist Paul Webb, will finally make its way Stateside next month. Recorded under the moniker Beth Gibbons and Rustin Man, Out Of Season will hit store shelves on October 7 via the good folks at Sanctuary. Over the last year or so, the pair have played short tours and one off dates in the UK, but with the impending release of Out Of Season in the US, Gibbons and Webb will be headed here for a quick, 10-date tour jaunt. "We've done like forty gigs," Webb told Rolling Stone, "so now the band's really come together. It's a really hot band now."
The duo spent four years recording the album, and their relationship stems all the way back to 1995 when Gibbons sang on a track by O'Rang. O'Rang featured Webb and fellow Talk Talker, Lee Harris. Webb and Gibbons hit it off so well that Gibbons actually moved in with Webb and his wife for a week. Their strong friendship turned into a strong working relationship when they united with what Webb called a common goal: "to make a record different from anything we'd done before." Take a look at the Gibbons/Webb tour itinerary below.
