Stereophonics Drummer Stuart Cable Quits Band

News out of Stereophonics camp is not good today: drummer Stuart Cable has quit the trio. Cable, whose strong rythym section ability was always overlooked in the press due to his laughable mullet/ífro combo, had been rumored to be suffering from medical problems, ones that caused shows to be canceled earlier this week. Frontman Kelly Jones has intimated in a released statement that Cable hadnít been able to give the time necessary to the ëPhonics. Jones said, ìMe and Stuart started a band when I was 12. Emotionally to me this is heartbreaking, I love him like a brother, but commitment-wise there have been issues since Just Enough Education To Perform.î Jones went on to add, "No one will be replacing Stuart as a band member, Stuart is irreplaceable, but Steve Gorman (ex-Black Crowes) will continue to sit in on drums for the upcoming shows. No one member of the band is bigger than our songs. It's a rock and roll band and the coming shows will be rocking." So, evidently no change to the current tour plans, but no Stuart, either.
