Ash front-man, Tim Wheeler, snuck out of the studio this weekend to play an acoustic set with ex-Weezer bass player Matt Sharp at Spaceland in Silver Lake. Pre-Columbus Day revelers (including Australian golden boy Ben Lee) gathered on Sunday night to sample new material from Ash's forthcoming album, which they're currently recording in LA. Wheeler also offered some tracks from Ash's 2001 release Free All Angels. Also on the bill was an acoustic set by Geoff Martyn (formerly of Travis), and the Belgian punk/funk quintet Millionaire. Stay tuned to The Tripwire.com for video footage of Wheeler performing "Shining Light."
