Kindercore Records Goes Under

Yuck. Now weíve lost another indie label. New York-based but Athens-initiated record label Kindercore Records has shut its door, effective pretty much now, according to Pitchfork Media. The label, who was home to acts like I Am The World Trade Center, Call and Response, Japancakes, and Of Montreal was told to rid itself of overhead immediately, and thus the label has been shuttered, as well as its sister label, The Telegraph Company. All currently touring acts will still receive tour support throughout their jaunts, but all 2004 releases have been pulled. That included a new IAWTC and Gersey albums, amongst others. There are some decent indie acts out there looking for homes nowÖ
