Fab Five Extend Queer Eye Expertise Into The Music Biz

Queer Eye For The Straight Guy has become a sensation. In a few short months Kyan, Ted, Carson, Jai, and Thorn, (uh, I meanÖ I think those are their names. What? It's not like I watch it every Tuesday at 9PM CT, orÖ whenever it's on) have taught the nation valuable lessons about grooming, cooking, style, culture, and home design. They've even been spoofed on South Park. The Fab Five, as the Queer Eye guys call themselves, are now going to add music to their list of expertise. On February 10, Capitol will release What's That Sound, the soundtrack to the hit show. Elton John (obviously) and Basement Jaxx have contributed new songs for the compilation, which also includes a previously unreleased Chemical Brothers remix of the new Kylie Minogue single "Slow," and a track mixing Fischerspooner and Billy Squier. Tracks from Liz Phair, In-Grid, and Jamelia are also included.

According to Billboard, What's That Sound will be the first in a series of releases from Capitol and Queer Eye producers Scout Productions, with future installments tipped to focus on "show-related theme records."
