Rock legend Elvis Costello has plotted a quick North American jaunt in support of his latest album, North. The release, which hit shelves in October, is Costello's 20th album of original material and finds the star dropping the rock & roll guitars in favor of a more jazz/classical based sound. Just to be sure that everything was just right, all songs were written, arranged, and conducted by Costello himself. The 13-date tour will get underway on February 19 in Clearwater, FL, and runs through March 11 in San Francisco. As had been the case on Costello's initial tour in support of North, he will be accompanied by longtime collaborator, Attractions/Imposters keyboardist Steve Nieve.
The majority of the tour will feature only Costello and Nieve, however, the duo will be joined by the Brodsky Quartet for three dates. Those dates February 24 in Nashville, February 26 in New York, and February 27 in Boston. The Brodsky Quartet backed Costello on North as well as 1993's The Juliet Letters.
