NARAS Uses Grammys To Launch Download Educational Campaign

The National Academy Of Recording Arts And Sciences will use the impending Grammy telecast to try to convince people to pay for their music. MTV News reports that the broadcast will mark the launch of a NARAS campaign aimed at educating people on the "value of paying for music." The campaign will also point people in the direction of viable, legal download outlets like the Apple iTunes Store. NARAS will also launch a new web site to be the cyberspace home of the new education campaign. This new initiative is based on research that suggests 12 to 24-year-olds are less likely to use illegal download sites if they have been educated on the issues and consequences surrounding illegal downloads and file-sharing.
