Recent years have seen remakes of ë70s originals like The Brady Bunch, Charlieís Angels, and Starsky & Hutch. Next up, The Longest Yard. The 1974 film about a prisoners versus guards football game (proto Victory, anyone?) was directed by Robert Aldrich and starred Burt Reynolds and Eddie Albert. Now, according to MTV News, MTV Films and Paramount Pictures are looking to remake the movie and have co-producer Adam Sandler play the part of former quarterback Paul Crewe, as Reynolds did in the first go-round. Chris Rock is in the mix, as well as a host of NFL and hip-hop stars, and Sandler is in talks trying to bring Snoop Dogg aboard, as well. Look for The Longest Yard on the big screen in 2005.
