Itís been seven long years, but Morrissey fans can now rejoice: his new album is in the can and ready to be released. The ex-Smiths frontman, who inked a deal last year with Attack/Sanctuary, will drop his seventh solo album, You Are The Quarry , on May 18. Featuring long-time backing members Boz Boorer, Alain Whyte, Gary Day, and Dean Butterworth, Quarry also features keyboards by Air and Jellyfish man, Roger Manning, who was brought in by producer Jerry Finn (Blink-182, green Day, AFI. Morrissey himself calls Quarry, ìthe album that I've wanted to make for quite a while. I believe You Are The Quarry has something for everyone. I didn't want to do the same thing over again. That's so boring." He also added, ìThere are no links to the past. This is a much brighter sounding album, than much of my previous work. We've turned the page with Quarry. It's a dynamic album and I couldn't be any happier." Sounds like a winner. May 18 canít come soon enough for many of us.
