Long Time Coming

Iím a bit late on this one, but better late than never. The third single from Southampton, UK songsmiths The Delays is entitled ìLong Time Coming,î fitting in perfectly with my delayed review. This quartet excels in shimmery Byrdsian pop, all chiming guitars and pretty melodies. You may remember their single ìNearer Than Heaven,î which appeared on Player .043 (and will be re-released later this month as their next single), and ìLong Time Comingî is more of the same. Occupying similar headspace to Liverpudlian janglemasters The Laís, The Delays timeless pop goodness never fails to bring a smile to your face. The perfect springtime song, stuff ìLong Time Comingî in your CD player and youíll start dreaming of warmer weather, the joys of the upcoming months and you will start putting the memories of this frozen winter into the far reaches of your mind. The Delays have that sort of effect.
