Previously Unseen Cobain Interview Surfaces In Uncut

An interview with Kurt Cobain, one of his last, will be published for the first time in the forthcoming Uncut Legends magazine. Originally intended to air on French TV, the interview reveals some startling insight into what might have been. In the interview Cobain says he'd love to form a band with Courtney Love. "Itís a nice thought. Iíd like to, but to tell you the truth, I would rather just quit my band and join Hole, you know ñ only because when I have played music with them, thereís a level of connection thatís a little bit higher than with anyone else I ever played with. Itís amazing."

He continues, "Itís totally satisfying for Courtney and I, but completely unrealistic because weíre already so intertwined with each other. Most people donít think of the band Nirvana, they think of Kurt and Courtney and it gets in the way. People would just overlook the music and look into other things. Itís such a sad situation. I really wish we could just join bandsÖ[but] it wouldnít be considered a real band."

According to the BBC, Cobain was considering playing acoustic guitar and straying away from the grunge scene altogether. "It might be nice to start playing acoustic guitar and be thought of as a singer and a songwriter, rather than a grunge rocker," Cobain says. "I could sit down on a chair and play acoustic guitar like Johnny Cash or something, and it won't be a big joke."

The magazine containing the full interview will be on shelves on March 16 in the UK.
