Streets Of LA

I really have about two types of video games that I can really get into. The first are the Sega Sports/ESPN games, and the second are the Tom Clancy games like Splinter Cell and Rogue Spear. I'll try out other games here and there, but they never seem to do the trick. (Just giving you a little bit of background so you'll know where my gaming tastes lay.) I was a bit skeptical at first, but I quickly became addicted to True Crime: Streets Of LA. It's basically Max Payne and Grand Theft Auto rolled into one with a soundtrack that sports over 50 original tunes from Snoop Dogg, the Westside Connection and more. The premise is this: you are Nick Kang, a member of the LAPD's Elite Operations Division (E.O.D). There is some serious shit going down in LA between the Russian and Chinese mafias and Nick's job is to get to the bottom of it. The streets of LA are at Nick's mercy. Throughout the game, you have a series of missions to accomplish, but on along the way, you have opportunities to bust drug dealers, pimps, car-jackers, etc. Depending on how you handle these "bad guys," you become a "good cop" (by arresting them) or a "bad cop" (by killing them). Solving crimes gives you points you can cash in for fighting, driving, and shooting training that will make Nick even more bad-ass. The game has three different endings, but I've only seen one so far. Regardless, I've seen enough to know that this game is the dope. Play it.
